The market is trading higher in the afternoon on the slow volume Columbus holiday. The stock market is still open while the bond market is closed. The Columbus holiday is very typical of slow trading day.
The chip sector is seeing some sign of life today. But the low volume trading day may not be meaningful after all. Presciption related stock took a hit today after the delay effect from Walmart's action to reduce prescription cost by inducing $4 per generic prescription. It is a brutal war of getting more customers for the giant and the other specialty stores. Stay clear of the war.
