Wednesday's Stocks to Watch

The market climbed back from the low of the day after the FED announced the FED rate is unchanged around 2:30pm. All exchanges are in positive territories now. All eyes are on Google (GOOG) after close tonight.

It may give a boost the internet related stocks if it exceeds estimate and guides higher. I think only option play are worth while for the company. I would consider buying both long and short on the options with +/- $20 away from the stock to reduce risk.

Movers of the day:
(CHRW) - good earning report
(GOOG) - good earning after close?
(SIRF) - good earning report last night
(HOLX) - good earning report

Decliners (skip it if we are in bull run)

Tuesday Stocks To Watch

The market fluctuates throughout the day. It is currently up slightly. More dramatically upside or downside being produced in the past few sessions. Good news are: FED is holding off interest rate hikes; consumers are more confident now than before. Bad news: price of oil is inching back up from low of $50 to current $55 in a few days; uncertainty to global events (IRAN).

There are not much catalyst for the market to move either direction right now until FED has announced Wednesday afternoon and earning from Google (GOOG).

I see the following happening: more advancers than decliners today, more new hies than new lows; more up volumes than down volumes. The market is sided with the bulls right now.

Advancers:
(OMPI) - new break-thru creams announced by the company.
(ALGN) - good guidance forward.
(IXYS) - good guidance forward as well.

Decliners - do not want to mention them

Thursday Stocks to Watch

The market is tanking in the afternoon after yesterday's surge. The market still looks a bit weak. It can not continue its strength with a follow-thru day. Look for the next follow-thru day within a few days if the market is still strong. Otherwise we maybe heading lower in the near term.

Stocks Worth Watching:
Advancers:
(EBAY) - beat estimate and upbeat guidance
(TRID) - earning is not as bad as estimate

Decliners:
(VAR) - disappointing earnings
(PLXS) - disappointing earnings

Tuesday Stocks To Watch

The market is coming from down from its high and maybe heading lower before the close. The reason? Crude oil price is rising to almost back to $55 from the recent $50 low. A 10% jump in a few days! Also (YHOO) and (EBAY) will be announcing earning after close tonight. That will put some uncertainty to the Nasdaq tech market as well. Do not buy any more until the sky is bit more clear in the near term.

Advancer:
(PEIX) - ethanol play for President Bush's speech tonight, as well as other ethanol producer plays
(NXXI) - HIV play, cheap and dangerous play. Sell it for profit if you can

Friday's Stocks to Watch

The market recovered in the afternoon. It opened lower and then it see-sawed its way back to positive territory for the Nasdaq market. Volume is on pace to be lower than Thursday's volume.

Today's winners are:
(VNDA) - new stock offering for the company
(USAP) - Continuation from today's $2 advance

With weaknesses from Wednesday and Thursday, I would be cautious in putting more new buy positions. Tech looks to be a bit weak lately. A case in point, (IBM) beat the bottom line, it yet down over 5%.

Thursday Stocks to Watch

The market is trading down in the afternoon. The Nasdaq market is tanking after Apple (AAPL) disappointed as well as the "SELL" signals of tech stocks commented from Cramer, the well known stock commentator.

Most of the down stocks are in the area of tech, a lot of causalities:
(LRCX) down over $7
(AAPL) down over $4
(NVDA) down $3
(NVEC) down $6
(SMTS) down $3
(CAI) down $7
(VSEA) down $5
(GROW) down $5

The only winner is a small cap stock (HOKU). It got a big order win today.

Care must be warranted right now.

Wednesday Stocks to Watch

The market sank in the afternoon with heavier volume than typical. There are more fear on the market after Intel (INTC) disappointed the street with lower margins with on going war with AMD. Apple (AAPL) will report after close tonight. Hopefully it will give the tech Nasdaq a boost if the earning is good.

(ZOLL) is the star of the day after MEDTRONIC INC (MDT)'s Physio-Control division got its defibrillator shipments halted because of quality issues. It is the direct competition to Zoll Medical. Volume has increased 600% over normal. I believe it has more upsides in the coming weeks. It may split its stock 2-to-1 or 3-to-1 soon.

(RACK) is the worst decliner of the day. It sank over $12 after its earning report. I would not buy this dead cat for now.

Tuesday Stocks To Watch

The market struggled a little today after several advance attempts. It fluctuated all day long. The good news for the bulls is the oil price is still sinking below $52 now.

The stocks of the days are:
(OMRI) - biotech stock came public last year is up another $1.50 at around $35. It was up almost 300% last year. The trend for the stock still look very healthy.

(TSTC) - small Chinese stock on the breakout with massive volume. The stock was up 100% in December along. Risky but rewarding.

Friday's Stocks to Watch

The market again showed some strength as previous days. It opened lower because of disappointing earning pre-announcements from (AMD) and (SAP), but it recovered to positive in the afternoon. The DOW is near record high again. Nasdaq is trading at 6 year high. The tech is back now.

There are no standing out winners today. But most of the winners are advancing at a small percentage, such as recent winners of (GOOG), (MIDD), (FFIV), and (FMCN).

The standout losers are quite a few today, these positions should be avoided:
(AMD) - Price war with Intel (INTC). I would get out this position until the situation is cleared.
(VOL) - Finally down after several strong days.
(POOL) - Bad earning outlooks & a downgrade.
(RCRC) - Bad earning outlooks.

Wednesday Stocks to Watch

The market has shown its strength again. It opened lower and traded higher in the afternoon. Volume on all exchanges are on pace to be higher than normal. A good sign for the bulls.

(AAPL) is the star of the day again. It continued yesterday's breakout because of the revealing of iPhone at MacWorld yesterday. The momentum is with the bulls for the stock. The next level is $100 before it stops. A very strong stock indeed.

(VOL) is another star of the day. It vaulted $6 after yesterday's over $6 gain. It is the short sellers' nightmare in the making. It beat estimate by a wide margin yesterday. The stock is on fire today again.

Tuesday's Afternoon Stocks to Watch

The market is trading flat in the afternoon. It opened up, but then it traded down, and up. In a see-saw battle.

Apple (AAPL) is the star of the day. During the MacWorld, Steve Jobs revealed the new and powerful iPhone to the public. It is projected to be another block buster for the company, $6 billion revenue for Apple in the coming year. WOW! I would buy it only it is in the pull-back.

(GMKT) is back on uptrend track, the 52-week high is around $29. I believe this stock has more legs until the old high. And watch the action when it is breaking the old high. If it comes down from the old high, I would sell it then, otherwise, I will hold it until the momentum changes.

(LFC) is another volatile stock, it was up $5 yesterday and down $5 today. It is only for the option traders.

(TWB) a big loser today, bad outlook and a downgrade.

Monday Stocks to Watch

The market is gaining after the initial drop at the open. Tech stocks are making a comeback as well as some Chinese related stocks, (LFC) is up $5 after two days of sell-off. The stock will be open trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange Tuesday.

(AAPL) is gaining ahead of the MacWorld tomorrow. Perhaps the hype will be the new iPhone?

A few tech stocks are higher today as well, (UCTT) - semi stock, (SNDK) - new product revealed, (RIMM) is up on the news its Blackberry with the new Yahoo Mobile search technology, (ONNN) - big upgrade from a brokerage firm and a new 52-week high.

The Market Took A Hit Today

After the unemployment announced this morning, the market has never looked back. It sank at the open, then the market traded with above average volume to the downside. Most of the Chinese stocks are down after several days of strength, especially from last year's gain. It maybe correction coming for the whole Chinese related stocks. I would avoid it for now.

Tech stocks are down today as well after Motorola (MOT) was downgrade and announced disappointing sale figure. All (MOT)'s suppliers are down as well. No relief insight. Keep your cash and get out of margin and wait for better opportunities.

The few notable up stocks are:
(BRLC) - HD and LCD TV maker with massive up volumes
(MDLK) - up on no news.
(MEMY) - up with no news, but volume is over 3 times normal with over 1.6 million shares traded
(CHTT) - added to the S&P 600 Smallcap index

Tuesday's Afternoon Stocks to Watch

Small Chinese Stocks Are Up Again

With today's Nasdaq surge, some larger Chinese stocks (LFC) and (CHL) are in correction mode, but the smaller cap stocks are advancing, such as (GSOL), (CEA) and (FFHL).

Tech stocks are Up, Retails are mixed

Some big tech stocks are advancing with above average volume, such as (RIMM) and (AAPL). Most of the retail stocks are down, but a few strong up exceptions: (GES) and (GYMB).

New Year New Stock Ideas

The year 2007 begins with a big bang on the stock market. The major gainers today are mostly China related, stocks such as (LFC), (CHL), (CHA), (ZNH), and (CEA). The reason for the gain perhaps traders still think China is still growing with the world populous nation. Two of the gainers are airlines related. Perhaps the country cannot grow with the trade route support of the airline industry.

With the new year ahead of us, I will bring out some fresh stock trading ideas each day which is different from my previous blogs. Each day will have a gainer group from an industry sector. Let's make a lot of money in 2007.
