Friday Stocks to Watch
The market is tanking after (GE) announced earning short falls from its financial sectors. The main reason for the big over 11% drop is there is no fore warning from the company regarding its financial problems. That may indicate other companies may do the same if (GE) is doing it.
Fortunately the trading volume is lower today than the previous day. I would not give up my positions yet until the market is showing some let downs with higher volumes. Hang tight and watch the trend! I believe this could be temporarily sell off. The solar and fertilizer companies are quite strong as compared to the overall market. Perhaps that is where the money is heading toward.

Stocks to Watch Wednesday
The market is trading lower after the price of crude oil climbed over $110 today and the terrible miss from (UPS). Most the retails and airlines are down today because of the news.
I found one interesting stock to be worth trading either on the long or the short side is (FCSX). The earning announcement will be tomorrow before the market open. The stock has been hammered by the news of MF Global mid March. But the company claimed that it has no sub-prime related business and its customers have not left. I believe the stock can swing either direction over 10% either direction after earning. Buy the May 30 call, and April 20 put would be worth a close look.

Today's Stocks to Watch
The stock is trading slightly higher today. Most of the solar stocks are up today. Green stocks are back now. (FSLR) is the leader in the pack. Fertilizers are up too today, (POT), (MOS), and (CF) are the leading stocks in the group.
I would pick the stocks in the best trading groups, such as solar, fertilizers, and power generation.
Stocks to watch in the groups are:
(GHM)
(MOS)
(CF)
(TNH)
(CMP)
(FSLR)

The US Stock Market is Back
I believe the US stock market is breaking out of the downtrend now. Higher volume on the up days and lower volumes on the down days. The market has confirmed its direction at the end of March. It is time to buy some market leading stocks.
The stocks I like now are:
(AAPL)
(RIMM)
(BIDU)
(AXYS)
(SLH)
(PPO)

The Financial Market is Crashing
If you follow my advice Friday on Bear Stein (BSC), buy both call and put options, you have already make a lot of the money on the put side. Now since JP Morgan is buying at $2 per share, it is time to get out of those positions, and collect your winnings.
I think the market still has some slightly more to the downside, but we need to watch the volume on the sell and long side. Don't be greedy, wait for the signal to get in.

Is Bear Stein A Bargin?
Bear Stein (BSC) is down over 50% in day. I believe there could be an option play on the stock. Buy both put and call for next month. I think you should be able to make money either direction because of the volatility. The financial sector is still bad right now.

Stocks to Watch Friday
The market is trading lower this Friday. Nasdaq is trading at the level we have seen since October of 2006. The trend is still down. There is just no incentive to buy anything these days. But it is still worth while to keep a good list of stocks when the market returns.

The Market Is Turning South Against
The market is trading lower from its earlier high this morning. It started higher and ends lower by the closing bell. That is not what we wanted to see. The bear is running wild. Fortunately, I sold some of my buys yesterday this morning.
Buying anything in this kind of market can be deadly to your financial nest eggs. We are still in the bear market, stop buying now.

Are the Bulls Coming Back?
The market has turned from trading lower to trading higher in the afternoon as volume expands, could this be the signal to the upside? From the past experiences, this could be the turning point. If you will to step-in and take advantage of the first strong up day. I would place small potion of my capitols to purchase some leading stocks. Stocks such as (RIMM), (AAPL), and (GOOG) do not look bad at all. If the market turns back, we can sell them whenever is appropriate.

Stocks to Watch Tuesday
The market is marching higher in the afternoon. It dropped off from the initial open high of the day. Trading volume is lower than the typical trading days. That means the traders are selling into the strength. The clear direction is heading lower in the days to come. Until the sentiments change, hold your cash and put up a stock watch list.
Keep a list of trading up stocks in the down market. Watch and get in only when the timing is right. Today's stocks watch list.

Solar Power Stocks are Flying Today
This article is dual published on my other stocks Idea blog, I am transitioning this blog to a new location.
After First Solar (FSLR) and Applied Material (AMAT) earning announcements, the solar stocks are on the fly in the morning. Both companies are indicating demand for solar panels are very hot right now and can continue into 2009. That is the good news for the solar companies.
These are the only companies are worth getting into. The rally today could be another dead cat bounce in the bear market. But definitely keep your eyes on the solar stocks when the market turns into the uptrend.

Friday Stocks to Watch
The market is trading lower in the afternoon. Like the previous days, it started higher, but it traded lower in the afternoon. It is not what we expected in the bull market. With the market down over 20% since the high of October for Nasdaq, it is clearly that we are in the bear market.
One clear winner for today is Amazon (AMZN). This is the one we should pick up when the bull returns. Why the stock is up because the company is buying back its debts and stocks worth over $1 billion. That is bullish for the stock, but unfortunately we are in the bear market, so I would not even consider buying now. Put that one in your watch list.
(CTSH) is another should be in your watch list as well, why? Because it had blowout earnings, and it is up in the bad market.

Stocks are in Correction Mode
With current financial situations: sub-prime crisis, inflation fear, higher unemployment, slower expected retail sales, and recession fear; I believe all the tradable rallies are opportunities to reduce your holdings. Even companies with good earnings, (JDSU), (DIS), and (MA) are down from its earning announcements. The big gainers are becoming the shorting candidates as the market rally from the lows.
A prime example is (ACL). It is up almost 10 points today. If the rally failed, I would predict the stock will get hammer with the trend. The only one I really like is (SIRF). Its market is about $400 millions now after it crashed from the high of $34. It has no long term debt and a lot of cash $200 millions. It would be interesting take out companies by the bigger cap tech company. GPS is still in demand. I believe within a few month, we may see the announcement.

Stocks to Watch Before Open Wednesday
The US market is expected to open slightly higher today after this morning's productivity report. (JDSU) is advancing this morning after it beat its earning estimate after close yesterday, it is up 23% pre-open. (ORCT) is advancing 31% after it announced its 15 year contract with Deutsche Telekom, this one looks interesting to get into.
The overall market is heading lower in the near future, I would use this opportunities to reduce my holdings, avoid major buying positions right now. But small position into (ORCT) maybe OK to do.

Penny Stock Roaring in the Big Down Market
IDM Pharma Inc (IDMI) soared over 100% today after it announced its favorable phrase-3 trial of its late-stage trial of its drug for a rare bone cancer reduced risk of death by 30 percent. Volume has picked tremendously yesterday and today. Even with the massive down market today, it is the star of the day. From the look of trading pattern of the stock, it may still have more upsides to it.
The stock has traded between the range of $0.50 to over $10. It is definitely a speculative stock. The company is losing money. Its normal trading volume is only 220K, but today is over 8 million shares traded. If you can tolerate risk and have gambling money for yourself, then it may not be a bad idea to play a small position in it. Once you get another 15 to 20 percent gain, it maybe time to get out.

The Stock Market Is Tanking
This market is very volatile. It is up 2-3% one day, and down 2-4% another day. If you are not right about the direction, then it is better off not to trade at all. But one thing is certain. The direction is down. The rally is mostly dead-cat bounce. Use your next opportunity of up days to sell into the rally until the situation changes.
Looks like the traders are thinking global economic slow down around the world because of the US slows down. Regardless the cause, the bottom line is avoid buying any stocks now.

Stocks to Watch on Monday
The market opened mixed and traded down around midday. The Chinese Shanghai market is up big this morning with a massive 8% gain. Wow! Is the Chinese market back? There are still many signs of uncertainty, such as is recession coming, who will win presidency in 2008, more write downs from many corporations, and more inflation is coming?
But one thing is certain, maybe some companies valuations are low, look at (SGTL) is taken out by the Freescale. Looks like the coal related stocks, such as (FDG), (ANR), (PCX) are up in the current down market. Maybe coal is the short term answer to the energy problem for now.

Events to Watch Next Week
The stock market had a very good week after a series of down weeks in January with very good volumes. I think the market is putting a good short term bottom right now. It is maybe time to put in small portion of cash into action now. The beaten down financial and housing stocks maybe showing signs of not going down further even with more bad news. Bigger cap companies have the resources to swallow the smaller rivals, such as Microsoft (MSFT) is buying Yahoo (YHOO). Sound financial companies. Here are the news worth watching from Yahoo:

Is the Market Bottom?
The biggest news before the open today is Microsoft (MSFT) buying (YHOO). This news is basically saying that stocks are cheap. The bigger cap companies are buying smaller rivals. The negative news front is still remain, recession fear, bad housing market, sub-prime problems, inflation fear. But based on yesterday's trading pattern, it looks like the short term bottom has been reached. It maybe OK to dip a small portion right now to test the water. If we are wrong, we don't have to lose a lot in it.

Will the stock market test the recent lows?
The US stock market is expected to open lower today due to several reasons: one of the biggest bond insurers, MBIA, is expected to have bigger lost; bigger than expected employment number announced this morning; Higher cost for companies; trading went south after the firm uptrend after the FED interest rate announcement; (AMZN) is expected slower 1st quarter sale.
All these news are bad for the market. I believe we maybe able to see the recent lows touched mid January. The best advise is to wait and see if the low can be hold. We are looking for another panic selling days before buying.
Cash is the king right now. Bond rate is too low. The bright days should be coming in the near future.

The FED Has Acted, Market Responds
As expected, the FED cut the interest rate by half due to the economy slowing down. Stocks have soared as soon as the announcement came out. The million dollar question is: Is this the time to get back in and buy stocks?
The million dollar answer is nobody knows. I would do right now is to see how well the market can hold with the gains into the close. If the volume picks up and stay on course, I would start to nimble a bit, but if it fails, I would wait for better opportunities later. It is still the time to be cautious because of the recent technical trading patterns. Watch the trading volume and the direction of the market. Don't be the sole brave hero out there by yourself.

Stocks to Watch After Close
The stocks struggled back and forth, it finally closed to the upside. Volume is higher than yesterday's close. Normally it should be a good technical upside day, but the (YHOO) reported worse than expected guidance, it was down over 10% after hour. Along with other small tech companies, (CYMI) and (HTCH), along with (BIDU) is down over $9.
FED meeting is tomorrow. (GOOG) earning is coming after close. All in all, I would still be cautious about buying anything right now. More bad news can be expected from economy front, financial earnings, and inflation. Stay with your cash for now.

Events to Watch Next Week
We had a very volatile for the past week. All major indexes had their biggest swing from low to high in years. Is the bear market or correction over? The million dollar answer is, nobody knows. We just need to watch for leadership changes and confirmations before dipping into buying again. The major event for next week is off course the FED meeting, the prediction on the street is 0.5% reduction. Other events (source Yahoo Finance) you may want to keep track are:

Is the Stock Market Back?
After two days of massive up couple days, many would ask if the stock market bottom? The million dollar answer is that nobody knows. But based from my past experiences, it is still too soon to tell if the rally is for real. Wait for more stock leaders to confirm the rally before buying.
With more risk to the market, here is one stock you may want to take a good look at it, (RMG). It is in the risk management arena. It is the right area to be in based on the current stock market condition.

Teenage Millionaire - How to turn $8 into Millions
This is a very inspirational video on how a teenage girl can turn $8 into millions of dollars. Watch and turn from it.
Has the stock market reached the short term bottom?
After yesterday's massive reversal to the upside at the close, many of the investors and traders will ask if this is the short term bottom. In my humble opinion, this is the short term dead cat bounce. Why? I think there are several reasons:
1. no new leaders have emerged from the wreckage yet;
2. the recent low maybe tested again;
3. no end to the recession fear;
4. price of oil is still high;
5. solar stocks are looking down today (used to be the darling from last year);
6. (EBAY) and (AAPL) reported disappointing forecast.
I would hold off buying for now.

US Stock Market Is In Bear Market
Based on the past few days trading sessions as well as the past month performance, we can safely say that the US stocks market is in bear market now. There maybe bounces up sessions, but it will be met with resistances until the situation "changes". The word "changes" implies something will signal a change to the market sentiment. We will have to wait the "change" to occur before any major buy program kicks in.
In the meantime, short the high flyers, and don't buy any strong momentum stocks now. Keep your cash at bay. It maybe needed when the "change" comes.

Stocks Are Sinking
The market was initially up before it opened this morning, but it went south after the Fed chairman testified with the Congressional finance committee. The US economy seems to be in trouble as confirmed by the chairman. That spells bad news to the stocks investors. Don't be greedy, hold your cash and wait for entry opportunities for now.
Look for high quality stocks when the time is right.

The market is looking down this Wednesday morning
With Intel (INTC) pre-announced to miss estimate and future slowing sale this morning, the market is looking down. The fear of recession along with slower sale from Intel and Samsung yesterday, the good news from IBM and HPQ a few days ago did not provide any good short term support at all. The best strategy is to stay away buying and short the high flyers.

The Market is in Swam with Bears
With the recent trading actions on the street, it is quite obvious that we are in bear market now. Any day can be treated as selling your positions days. The US economy is looking to have recessions in the near term. And inflation is popping up everywhere you go, gasoline, food, and many kinds of basic materials are up. These scenarios do not bode well for the bulls.
I would stop buying any stocks right now. Hold tight with your cash until the tide has turned. Like Cramer says: "Don't Buy!"Don't Buy!" Yesterday we had great earning pre-announcement from (IBM) and (HPQ), but today we got bad news from (C). Most bad news are coming in the coming earning season. Stay put. Short the high flyers from last year, it can make you money.

Stocks to watch before open Monday
The tech stocks are getting a boost from a few major companies, (IBM) and (HPQ). Both announced better than expected earnings to come. Looks like these big cap international tech companies will provide the short term base support for the market.
If I want buy any today, stick with these two names, forget the smaller stocks in this kind of unstable markets.

The Market is in Down Trend
Even though we had a good day yesterday, I believe the market is in the downtrend. Tech heavy Nasdaq still shows major weaknesses among the chip sectors, solar, and the high flyers of last year. Unless we can see the follow-thru from the yesterday strength with heavier volume, otherwise some traders will sell into strength again.

Market is in Bear Mode Now!
With Nasdaq getting its 9th straight loss, and it has already sank over 9% for the year 2008, the market is looking tiring now. Every time it goes up, it hits with a lot of sellings. We are in the bear market now. Like Cramer says: "Don't Buy! Don't Buy! Don't Buy! Don't Buy!"
Down volumes are getting heavier and heavier. I would use any up day opportunities to get out of the longs I have. Stay with cash for now, Cash is the King!
